Lawful & Responsible
At Heel and Hike™, we take your dog’s safety – and the community’s – seriously. We always operate in line with UK laws and regulations, including:

-
Dog Control Orders (Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005) – ensuring all waste is cleared and public spaces are respected (e.g., dogs on leads in certain areas, restricted access to parks, maximum number of dogs per walker)
-
The Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 – handling all breeds responsibly, with safety as our top priority.
-
Control of Dogs Order 1992 – Dogs in public must wear a collar and tag with the owner’s name and address (not just a microchip).
-
The Road Traffic Act 1988 – keeping dogs safe and secure when near or travelling on roads.
-
The Dogs Act 1971 – preventing dogs from being dangerously out of control in public or private spaces.
-
Dogs (Protection of Livestock) Act 1953 – keeping dogs under control around livestock and farmland.

By following these laws, we provide a safe, respectful, and professional service for both your dog and the wider community.
